Epithelial signaling and secretion with a special focus on cAMP and Ca2+ signalization and their interactions. The composition and function of organellar contact sites in polarized cell physiology. The physiological and pathological roles of CFTR channel in cell and organ physiology. New organoid models in the gastrointestinal research and their translational potential. Microscopy techniques in epithelial research (super-resolution, correlative microscopy, scanning electron microscopy), 3D imaging modalities (array tomography). Inflammatory diseases in the gastrointestinal tract (acute pancreatitis, inflammatory bowel diseases).
